Catch That Potion - 20 second game
I was watching an episode of Roll20 Presents Rime of the Frostmaiden. There were some fumbled rolls, and this game was born.
Your adventuring partner, Vadrux, pries open chests attached magically to the ceiling. The loot falls from them, plummeting to its doom unless you, Rattle, can stop it from smashing on - or through - the floor.
I want to build on what I learned in my first game jam, where I was introducing myself to Godot. My learning goals for this Game Jam are to have a more focused approach to the game, scene, signal layout compared to The Concentrator. I want there to be a less haphazard kludge of a layout. The final submission of The Concentrator was very difficult to iterate on.
A secondary learning goal is to find out how to support multiple input mechanisms. It should be pretty easy to do, I just need to learn how.
So far, I've created a 'main menu' which immediately launches a level. This is a bit of a more sensible approach to trying to tack on a menu/UI at the end, as I did in The Concentrator. The level spawns a player close to the bottom of the screen, which can move left and right. It then spawns treasure chests at the top.
That's all I have so far.
